About Us

Welcome to Eco Cottage

The way we shop seems effortless and unchallenging. Do you need or want something? Just head to the store or hop online, and it’s yours. But here’s the problem: Too much of the stuff we buy today is bought without putting in much thought.

It’s convenient. It’s accessible. And more than anything, it’s just plain easy.

But creating the slightest insight into what you buy, can make a world of a difference. And not just for you.

Who we are

Welcome to the Eco Cottage, a team that brings together the beauty of handmade, artisanal products with the functionality of the modern day.

Eco Cottage was born from the desires of two people, Rajesh and Malar- two passionate individuals who decided to turn their love for green spaces and Indian crafts into a thriving business that does more than just sell products, but gifts you with an entire experience in itself. They believe shopping for creatively vibrant products that are natural, sustainable and of course, beautiful should be made simple. It has become our mission to enrich your living through the revival of traditional Indian arts and crafts.

Create a purpose on every purchase. Because choices make changes.

One of the greatest ironies we have come across is that we live in a country with a rich culture in art and crafts, yet is home to some of the most deprived craftsmen and women. In its beauty and scope, India’s craftspeople remain unsurpassed. Conserving our craft is a collective effort, not a singular one. So by choosing to directly support artisans and craft-based organizations, you can help create a cycle of demand that nurtures trust and long-term relationships.

An important goal we hope to achieve for these artisans is reaching new markets and creating contemporary products that inspire repeat orders. Our ultimate objective is to create lucrative career options for younger generations to carry on the tradition of Indian craftsmanship. It would be a sin to let it die.

Our artisans and craft makers Putting the H in handmade /Weaving a tale of crafts

The art of Indian craftsmanship goes way back and spreads across the length and breadth of this historically rich country. To most of our talented artisans, utility and aesthetics simply came naturally. They are inept at weaving elaborate stories and experiences and turning them into different forms of creativity using ethically sourced, earthy raw materials.

All products are handmade from natural elements such as jute, cotton, banana fiber, palm leaves, bamboo, clay, wood and are carefully selected by our artisans with the help of years of experience and knowledge. From numerous hues, embroidered, embossed and crafted into bags, jewelry, stationary and home décor – our product list offers myriad options of beautifully handcrafted pieces of work. Every purchase made is in direct support of an ancient community whose livelihoods are slowly diminishing today.

The ‘green’ living Shop mindfully, Live mindfully

Every person has their own tastes, the trick is to bring everyone’s ideas and inspirations to the table to create something everyone adores. Our love for ethnic artifacts and crafts go beyond just procuring them for sale. Styling spaces can be intimidating, but with the right help, it can also be the most enjoyable process to undertake. We style a variety of spaces from homes, balconies, offices to corporate or social events. Bringing in the goodness of ‘green’ is also one of our favorites. Decorating the room with ornate terracotta pots and elegant pine wood planters for air purifying plants can lift the mood of any space.

As our linkages are directly with the craft community, we remove the tradition of middle men as we endeavor to enhance their creativity and thrust them into the modern world with us.

With your help, we’re forming a community that’s capable of wide-reaching impact. Together, we can align our actions with our values to create positive change for a whole faction of people who need it. Our mission is to make ethical buying a second nature.

After all, this isn’t a journey for you and EcoCottage alone.

This is a journey for all of us.
